PINEDALE – The Pinedale Aquatic Center (PAC) has been awarded a $60,000 federal grant to launch the Cowboy Code of Ethics Youth Mentoring Program, a new initiative designed to help local youth grow in confidence, character, and community spirit. PAC expects to reach more than 600 local youth and engage over 100 community mentors over the next two years, through this new program. PAC Director Amber Anderson said a total of $60,000 will be awarded to the organization between now and September 2027 to support the new program.

PAC’s mentoring initiative will weave Wyoming’s Cowboy Code of Ethics into everyday learning, teaching values like living each day with courage, taking pride in one’s work, and riding for the brand. These time-honored principles will guide mentors and mentees alike as they build meaningful connections both on and off the field. The program will expand mentorship opportunities in Little Wranglers Day Camp, Jr. Wrangler Sports, and a new Teen Lounge at PAC. “These programs reflect what our community stands for—hard work, integrity, and looking out for one another,” said PAC Director Amber Anderson. “We’re proud to create opportunities for our kids to experience mentorship grounded in the values that make Wyoming special.”

Funded through the Department of Justice Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention and administered by the National Recreation and Park Association, the grant supports mentoring programs nationwide that strengthen youth development through parks and recreation.Recreation Manager Brittany Williams added, “This program is about more than just activities—it’s about passing down the Western values that define our way of life. We’re helping young people learn what it means to show up, keep your word, and take pride in your work.”
